Why Convert to JPG?
JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group), commonly known as JPG, is the most widely compatible image format in the world. From digital cameras to web browsers, email clients, and printing services, virtually every device and software can display a JPG image.
Benefits of JPG
- Universal Compatibility: Ensure your images can be viewed by anyone, anywhere. If you send a HEIC file (from an iPhone) to a Windows user, they might not be able to open it. Converting to JPG solves this.
- Compact File Size: JPG uses efficient compression to keep file sizes low, making it ideal for sharing online, emailing, or storing in bulk.
- Adjustable Quality: You can balance file size and image quality to suit your specific needs, ranging from high-quality photography to low-res thumbnails.
Handling Transparency
One limitation of JPG is that it does not support transparency. If you convert a PNG logo with a transparent background to JPG, the transparent areas will turn solid white (or black, depending on the converter settings). Our tool defaults to a clean white background, which is standard for most use cases.
